Eating nuts can support a balanced and healthy diet. Some nut varieties contain plenty of fibre, others provide lots of protein. Many nut varieties also rich in unsaturated fatty acids. 30 g of walnuts per day may even improve the elasticity of blood vessels. But what type of nut has which kind of health benefit?

Almonds are the best source of protein among nuts. Their protein supports buildup and preservation of the muscle mass.
Nuts contain natural fibre
Our almonds and hazelnuts provide important fibre. Fibre is good for us, since it supports a normal intestinal function.
High content of unsaturated fatty acids
It is not tob e denied that nuts contain large amounts of fat. However, many nut varieties contain a high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids, such as walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts. Eliminating saturated fatty acids from your diet and replacing them by so-called mono- or polyunsaturated fatty acids helps to maintain a normal cholesterol level in the blood.

The best way to chop nuts
For some recipes you need chopped nuts. At KoRo you get chopped walnuts or cashew nuts. In case you need other types of chopped nuts for your recipe you can easily chop them on your own. Using a high performance blender or food processor, you will have chopped nuts in a flash. If you don’t have neither of the two at hand, you can also put the nuts in a plastic bag and beat them with a hammer or any other heavy object until you got rid of your aggressions and the nuts are perfectly chopped.
Activating nuts – what lies behind this trend?
They told you that soaking nuts in water may improve their tolerability and remove enzyme inhibitors, lectins and fito-acids. This might work for certain types of legumes, but there is no scientific evidence for nuts. We recommend you to best enjoy your nuts straight from the pack.
Toasting nuts in a pan or in the oven
Briefly toast your nuts or seeds in a hot pan without oil, in order to underline their special aroma. You can also roast the nuts in the oven. That works particularly well with pine nuts or pumpkin seeds, which are the perfect topping on your salads or soups. Tasty!
Caramelising and glazing nuts
You only need two ingredients to caramalise nuts: nuts and sugar. Melt the sugar in a pan, add the nuts, stir well, place on a backing tray lined with baking parchment – and your glazed nuts are ready. The best way to store nuts
Our nuts arrive in a practibaly re-sealable package at your home. In there you can perfectly store your nuts without any concern – it can best be kept at room temperature in a dark place.
