Buy top quality seeds

Seeds can not only be planted in soil and brought to life with water - no, you can also snack on them! And there are many other uses for these little powerhouses. The otherwise rather inconspicuous seeds can really spice up your diet! Sprinkled on a salad, mixed into a smoothie or baked into bread: our seeds and kernels fit into so many dishes. From chia seeds and pumpkin seeds to psyllium husks, sesame and poppy seeds we bring you all the seeds you can imagine!

Seeds and kernels galore

You can buy many types of nuts at KoRo, but also lots of different little seeds. Did you know that you can make a vegan egg substitute out of seeds that swell, such as psyllium husks, linseed or chia seeds? This is because these seeds form a gel - with similar binding properties as eggs. Yes, our seeds are quite versatile. But our pumpkin seeds from Styria, for example, are also great as a snack in between meals.

Ground seeds

Whole seeds must first be broken down in the digestive tract so that the valuable ingredients can be absorbed by the body. If the seeds are ground, nutrients can be absorbed more easily by the body. That's why you can also buy crushed flaxseed from us.

Eating hemp seeds

You will find many different hemp products in our shop: anything from vegan hemp seed crunchies with chocolate, organic hemp protein, fine organic hemp butter, aromatic hemp oil and even hemp pasta for you to enjoy. As far as the seeds go, you can opt between unpeeled and peeled hemp seeds.

Are seeds healthy?

As you may have already noticed, there are many different seeds that you can enjoy. But first and foremost, a balanced and varied diet is healthy. Our seeds and kernels provide you with fibre and can often also serve as a source of protein.

How to use seeds in your diet

Our seeds are the perfect addition to your balanced diet: they are great as a topping in muesli, but they can also be used to spice up soups and salads - just try our seed mixture for salads! Make the perfect pumpkin soup with our pumpkin seed oil and, of course, crunchy Styrian pumpkin seeds. Finally, the light buttery flavour of our organic sunflower seeds is the perfect addition to any salad, for loads of good taste and a welcome crunch.

Sprouting seeds

When you sprout seeds, the shell breaks open and you take some work off your digestive tract. However, sprouting sometimes takes a few days. If you think that's a lot of work for a few germinated seeds, we can reassure you: We'll do it all for you and you can buy ready-to-eat sprouted sunflower seeds from us. By the way: Sprouting also intensifies the flavour and makes the little seeds all the more aromatic!

Tasty recipes with seeds

If you soak chia seeds in water before eating them, the seeds swell and the so-called chia pudding is formed. The swelling increases the volume of the seeds twelvefold! Our recipe for chia pudding is the perfect base for a tasty breakfast or dessert. Get creative with the toppings!

Are seeds good for weight loss?

If you want to lose weight, you should pay attention to a balanced and varied diet in addition to your calorie intake. Of course, you can also eat seeds if you want to lose weight. They can be perfectly integrated into your diet and often serve as a source of fibre.

How do I sprout seeds?

Growing your own sprouts from seeds is not that complicated. However, make sure that you choose seeds that can germinate. In our shop we have a stand for your sprouting jar, as well as the necessary sprouting sieve - for hygienic and easy sprout cultivation. We have also written instructions on how to sprout your own seeds.

Do seeds contain a lot of fibre?

Many of our seeds have a high fibre content. Our golden flaxseeds, for example, contain 35g of fibre per 100g. The ever-popular chia seeds also contain 31 g of fibre per 100 g. For an extra portion of fibre, you can spice up your breakfast with our seeds and kernels.

How many seeds can I eat a day?

That really depends on the type of seeds. Especially seeds with a high swelling capacity should be consumed in moderation. In the case of ground flaxseed, no more than 2 tablespoons should be consumed per day - it is also important to drink sufficient water at the same time as taking the seeds. You should not consume more than 15 grams of our chia seeds per day.

Which seeds and kernels can I buy at KoRo?

There are many different seeds and kernels to discover at KoRo. Here is a small selection for you:

How do I store the seeds and kernels?

We deliver most of our seeds in resealable packaging, so that you can store them airtight in a dark place at room temperature even after opening. This way they will keep for a long time. If you like their look, you can also decant the seeds and kernels and store them stylishly in a jar. Our own Ball mason jars are perfect for this!

Can I eat chia seeds raw or do they need to be soaked?

You can eat chia seeds raw and sprinkle them on your salad or muesli, for example. Like many other seeds, chia seeds have a high swelling capacity, so you can also soak them in water or plant drink. However, make sure you drink enough liquid in addition.
