Simply disgusting. Prepared according to instructions, consistency is tough, like fat / gristle from the pig. The smell is also unpleasant but negligible compared to the bite. No comparison to soy Geschnetzeltes.

not suitable as a soy substitute

I wanted to try another protein-rich meat substitute instead of soy and was initially pleased with the even higher protein content than soy. However, the product is simply inedible as sliced meat, whether in oat sauce, curry, gravy or tomato sauce and no matter how much vegetable stock is added. Even if you leave them to soak overnight and even with the most intensive stock, they have a very penetrating taste of their own. The consistency is also very different from soy shreds. It is slightly rubbery and the sauce is not absorbed nearly as well as with soy. I am totally disappointed and am now having trouble finishing the packet at all.

Having tried soy stew (not Koro's) some time ago, and being disappointed, I was skeptical about the product. Instead, this one amazed me. For the preparation I went fancy: I rehydrated it with vegetable broth, then drained and sautéed it in a pan with oil, deglazed with white wine and finally topped with bell pepper and walnut pesto thinned with tomato sauce ... Great taste and texture! Also considering the incredible amount of protein (60 per 100 grams!) I really think I will buy it again.
