Cocoa is the end product of the fermentation and roasting of the seeds of the cocoa tree. Cocoa nibs are peeled cacao beans which are broken into little pieces. Our organic and additive-free cocoa nibs are untreated and have a full-bodied, intense cocoa flavour.

Cocoa nibs are obtained from cocoa beans by peeling them and breaking them into bite-sized pieces.
Our cocoa nibs are made from Criollo cocoa beans. This variety is considered particularly noble.
Like all foods, cocoa nibs have a shelf life of up to six months. If you store them properly - cool, dry and protected from sunlight - you are on the safe side.
You can get creative with cocoa nibs: in baking and cooking or to refine smoothies and mueslis.
They have a tart, dark chocolate flavor.

Criollo cocoa is considered very noble and convinces with its intense and aromatic taste. Originally from Central America, it is also known as spiced cocoa because of its strong taste.

Native to Central America, where it was already cultivated in the Mayan era, cocoa was for a very long time a delicacy accessible only to the upper classes. Later, from 19th century onwards, cocoa began to be cultivated intensively, so as to allow the whole world to enjoy its unique taste in many different variations. Ivory Coast is the world's leading cocoa producer, followed by Ghana, Indonesia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Brazil and other countries. More than 5 million tons of cocoa are harvested each year worldwide. Did you know that about 50 cocoa beans are needed for a bar of chocolate?

Wahr oder falsch? Naja, fangen wir von vorne an: Ohne Kakaobohne, kein Kakao und folglich auch keine Schokolade. Kakaobohnen sind die Samen der Kakaofrucht und wachsen bei Temperaturen von etwa 30 °C am Stamm des Kakaobaumes. Geerntet werden die Früchte mit Macheten und Sichelstäben

Als nächstes geht es für die Böhnchen zur Fermentation. Warum das notwendig ist, fragst Du Dich? So wird gewährleistet, dass sie das gewünschte Aroma erhalten.
