Are you craving some plant protein? If that’s the case our Azuki beans are just the right thing for you! They contain as much as 20grams of protein per 100grams. But that is just the beginning; the super beans are also rich in varies fibre, minerals and vitamins. What should be interesting for athletes is the high contend of iron that is found in Azukis. The typical white stripe makes sure that the bean is not getting confused as a kidney bean but it’s applicable just as much as it’s sibling. In Asia it’s common to make a paste out of the beans and use them for a traditional dessert named Mochis (filled rice cake). How long should I soak Azuki beans before cooking?
Before cooking, you should soak the beans for at least 5-8 hours or soak them over night in cold water. If you use hot water you can reduce the time by 2-3 hours.
