If we had been botanically correct, we would have called the product "freeze-dried collective fruits and berries". The name doesn't sound very sexy now, does it? If you're wondering what "aggregate fruits" are, follow the letter string: A blackberry is not actually a berry, but an aggregate fruit. It is an aggregate of individual fruits. What can the freeze-dried berry mix be used for?

How does freeze-drying work?

For us non-physics geeks, the following abbreviated and simplified answer should suffice: Sublimation is the name of the process that describes when a substance - in our case: water - changes directly from the solid to the gaseous state of aggregation. That is, without becoming liquid in the meantime. For us, this means that we freeze the fresh berries and place them under vacuum. That's where the magic happens: the frozen water in the berries condemns. What remains are (most of) the nutrients, the color and the flavor of the berry, but with added crunch and that even with a longer shelf life. If it were up to us, freeze-drying would win the Oscar for the best fruit-drying method!

How many calories are in 100 g of freeze-dried berry mix?

You've noticed that we're huge fans of freeze-drying. Among other things, because almost all the water is lost (and that's what we want) - color, flavor and nutrients are almost completely preserved - and even intensified by the lack of water. However, this means that freeze-dried berries are much lighter than fresh ones, and therefore you need significantly more fresh berries for 100 g of freeze-dried berries. This in turn means that there are more nutrients, including sugar, in 100 g of freeze-dried berries than in the same amount of fresh fruit. qst is definitely quality, too, but the packaging that was totally unsuitable for such a delicate food had half the contents pulverized!

Delicious, full of flavor!

Much fuller in flavor than fresh fruit. Because it is freeze dried, also still crunchy so great to put over your cottage cheese.

Delicious but the strawberries are better

The berry mix I ordered because the strawberries were sold out for a long time. This mix is fine, stirred into yogurt very good, pure blueberries are a bit too sour. The other fruits you can snack well.

Tasty and good value for money.

I was surprised by the size of the package. I wondered how much is 350 g of dried berries and was very happy that it is really plentiful! The photos are deceiving for the package size. For this reason, I think the price is also justified.

all varieties really good crunchy. the blackberries and cranberries rather sour, the strawberries loves my 10-month-old son (and me) as a snack for in between

Berry mix

When you open the bag comes a really tasty scent entgegen.Richtig Fruchtig!Strawberries and blackberries taste excellent good to me only the cranberries I find a little sour.Kann but also on me lie.But on the whole it tastes good!
