Everything at a glance Organic thin-rolled oats

Oats have been an important staple food for a long time. However oats provide much more than just many valuable carbs. For all types of oats (rolled oats, soluble oats or fine oats) the whole oat groats are processed, including the endosperm, the seedling as well as the outer layers.

Oat flakes are rich in fibre

Especially the outer layers of oat contain plenty of fibre. Our organic fine oat flakes contain around 11 g fibre per 100 g. These fibres contribute to a normal intestinal function. Particularly relevant is the so-called beta-glucan contained in our fine oat flakes, which is only found in oats. Beta-glucan has scientifically shown positive effects on our blood glucose levels after eating and on our blood cholesterol levels.

The benefits of beta-glucan contained in oats:

· It has been shown that the beta-glucan contained in our oats reduces the cholesterol level in our blood. High levels of cholesterol in the blood is one of the risk factors of a coronary heart disease.

· Even 3 g beta-glucan from oats help maintain a normal cholesterol level in the blood.

· The absorption of beta-glucan from one meal by eating fine oat flakes can contribute to making the blood sugar level increase less quickly right after the meal.

Varieties and origins

Oats are grown in over 50 countries, with Russia, Canada and Australia being the three largest producers worldwide. In 2017, around 25.9 million tons of oats were harvested. The 20 largest oat producers make up 90% of the global crop. Oat is mainly grown in summer, as it is sensitive to the cold. Oat, however, suffers greatly during dry spells as well, and is therefore generally not cultivated in southern Europe and other warm areas.

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.
