Everything at a glance Organic puffed amaranth
Puffed amaranth - light, fluffy, crunchy, delicious. This puffed wanna-be grain is perfect to pimp your breakfast. For you to enjoy the crunchy version of this nutritious grain, amaranth is briefly heated up under pressure until it puffs up and turns into little balls, which can be a great addition to your muesli and as a topping for pretty much anything, really.
But not only its taste is great. Our puffed amaranth has a lot of volume but is light as a feather, and wonderfully crunchy. The tiny seeds are full of fibre and are processed without any added sugar. Long forgotten but actually already discovered and valued by the Incas and Mayas many many years ago, amaranth is now living a sort of Renaissance, and we are more than happy to introduce this amazing power grain back into your kitchen.

Varieties and origins

Amaranth grains
Amaranth grains are tiny and round, and their colour can vary from yellowish to beige. They have a nutty, slightly bitter taste, and are very rich in fibre.
Puffed amaranth
In order to transform the yellow of the amaranth into gold, the grains are briefly heated up under pressure. Puffed amaranth is light and airy, and is perfect in your muesli bowl.
Amaranth flakes
Amaranth flakes are made by steaming and rolling the grains. The resulting flakes are thin and yellowish, and maintain the nutty taste they have when unprocessed.
Amaranth flour
To obtain Amaranth flour, the grains are milled - according to the fineness of the milling, the flour will turn out more or less grainy. Amaranth flour is very versatile in the kitchen, thanks to its peculiar nutty taste.

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

In the muesli, as a topping - mmhh delicious!
Really tasty, super great pack. With the puffed things in the store bothers me namely very, that due to the low density is so little in it and you need so many packs and garbage. Not so here, very good!!!
