Vacuum packed instead of pickled

Unlike our beetroot slices in a jar, this product is not pickled! After being grown in organic fashion in Germany, our beetroots are processed here too. First they are peeled and pre-cooked, then they are vacuum-packed. This means that we remove the oxygen from the packaging of the beetroot. This way of packaging our beetroots means they can be kept for up to two years without vinegar or additives and retain that great sweet, earthy taste.

How do I store the organic beet and how long is its shelf life?

The beet likes it best at room temperature. Then it will keep for at least 24 months immediately after production. After opening the package, you should put it in the refrigerator and use it up within two days.

What goes with beet and what beet recipes can I make?

We are into delicious beet salad with feta cheese. The flavor combo of beet and horseradish is also quite tasty! When it comes to real recipes, we recommend you beet dumplings or gnocchi with beet! Is the beet pickled?

No, we have not pickled the organic beet. This is not even necessary, because we vacuum-pack them and they can be stored for up to two years without vinegar or other preservatives. If you still prefer pickled beet, we also have a version with organic sliced beet in a jar in our range.

Is it cooked beet from a jar?

Our beet is pre-cooked, but then does not end up in the jar with vinegar. We foil the beetroot in its packaging so that we no longer need any liquid to preserve it. To do this, we use the trick of vacuuming. By removing oxygen in the packaging, the decomposition process is greatly delayed and our beet has a much longer shelf life!

Is the beet vacuum packed?

Yes, after peeling and cooking, we vacuum pack the beet so that it will keep as long as possible in its packaging.

Is the beet organic?

Yes, our beet comes from organic farming and is planted and processed in Germany.

What is the difference between beet and ring beet?

Externally, beet and ring beet look very similar. It is only on the inside that it becomes clear how different they are: Ringed beet is - as its name suggests - alternately red and white ringed on the inside. Their taste is sweeter and, unlike beet, less earthy. By the way, the Romans knew more than 2000 years ago what beet can do! Today, however, you can prepare the beetroot much faster thanks to peeled and cooked state.

Do I need to cook the beet in the oven?

In our case, you can omit the beet cooking, because we have already done that for you. So instead of getting into an eternal battle with your oven, you can open the foil and get started right away. The beet arrives ready to eat, peeled and cooked.

Is beet healthy or unhealthy?

We don't think it's so great to judge health on the basis of a single foodstuff. Because healthy is above all a balanced and varied diet. As always: 'Balance is key'! Our organic beet scores especially in terms of speed. Instead of stewing them forever in the oven, we deliver them ready to eat in a foil. We don't need any frills like vinegar or other preservatives for this: Since we vacuum the beet, it can be kept for up to two years even on its own.
