Everything at a glance Organic buckwheat flakes
If you are looking for tasty and gluten-free grains, then your search is finally over, because buckwheat is the answer! Although very similar to other grains in taste, albeit slightly more bitter, buckwheat is a so-called pseudograin. Just like other pseudocereals as amaranth or quinoa, buckwheat is a great source of good carbohydrates and, with about 3.5 grams of fats per 100 g, is a real superfood.
Buckwheat has been cultivated in Asia for several thousands of years, but today it is mostly grown in the warmer climates of the earth.

Varieties and origins

Buckwheat
Buckwheat seeds have a greenish to beige coloration, and in shape they remind tiny pyramids. They are perfect to sprout, added to your porridge, and fit deliciously in a variety of recipes.
Buckwheat flakes
Buckwheat flakes look like rolled oats, but their nutritional values are very different. Naturally gluten-free, buckwheat flakes are perfect in your muesli and porridge!
Puffed buckwheat
Puffed buckwheat seeds are perfectly fluffy and soft, maintain their unique nutty taste, and, compared to other puffed grains, are crunchier. Add them to your recipes for an extra portion of fibre and bite.
Buckwheat flour
The most popular form of this high-protein pseudocereal, buckwheat flour is naturally gluten-free, tastes nutty, and its colour is creamy and uniform.
Buckwheat groats
To obtain buckwheat groats, the buckwheat is peeled
Buckwheat originally comes from Asia; arrived in Europe in the early Middle Ages, buckwheat has a short period of growth and thrives on lean soil, but is sensitive to cold. It has been a staple of Eastern European cuisine since ancient times, and Russia is the first documented country to have cultivated buckwheat. In 2017, 3.8 million tons of buckwheat were harvested worldwide. China is the largest producer of buckwheat, followed closely by Russia.

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

The flakes are suitable for gluten intolerance. They can be processed like oat flakes into porridge or overnight oats and have a slightly nutty taste.

Price / performance is insane!
Price / performance is insane!
there is a little bit too much
there is a little bit too much flour instead of flakes, as if it was grinded too much. But other than this it's a good product. the taste is a bit strong , typical of buckwheat so make sure you like that taste before ordering.
Great for a creamy gluten free porridge!
