The perfect rice for every recipe
There are so many rice dishes that it is easy to feel overwhelmed: which rice variety is best for which dish? If you want to prepare Thai curries, garam masalaa, or Indian lentil dals, it is best to use our organic Jasmine rice; originally from Thailand, Jasmine rice is characterised by its floral aroma and slight stickiness. Thanks to its nutty, earthy taste, our aromatic white Basmati rice is the ideal companion for meat, fish, and vegetable dishes, and goes particularly well with peanut sauces; and its brown counterpart is the ultimate base for delicious rice bowls and salads. Are you trying to cook a risotto so perfect and velvety that is capable of taking you back to your last Italian vacation? Then you should definitely give our organic risotto rice a try! A very starchy, short grain rice, it will give your risotto the creamy texture you are looking for.
Brown and white Basmati rice
As you have probably already noticed, in addition to white Basmati rice, you can also buy brown Basmati rice from us. White Basmati has a softer consistency than its brown sibling, and both flavours are just divine. A little tip: cook your rice with spices such as cardamom, turmeric, or with organic vegetable stock, to give your rice a wonderfully aromatic taste.

When we think of rice pudding, childhood memories are immediately awakened – when the smell of fresh rice pudding was welcoming you already at your grandma's doorstep! With our organic rice pudding you can bring these sweet memories straight back to your home. A pinch of ground cinnamon, a drizzle of almond butter as a topping, maybe a handful of our freeze-dried raspberries, and voilà: the heavenly scent of rice pudding fills every corner of your apartment, making you want to snuggle up with a bowl on the sofa. How do I cook perfect rice?
Whether in the rice cooker, on the stove, or in the steamer – what is crucial when cooking rice is the right amount of water. How much water you should use depends on the type of rice and how it is prepared. The following rule of thumb applies to our organic Jasmine rice and white organic Basmati rice: one cup of rice requires 1.5 cups of water. Unpeeled rice varieties such as organic Basmati brown rice, however, need a little more water. The best known method of cooking rice is the soaking one. Is KoRo's rice organic?
Here you can enjoy the very best of the world of rice in organic quality, as all our rice varieties come from organic cultivations. From pudding rice to sushi rice, KoRo's rice is certified organic and simply delicious – and arrives directly at your door! Oh, and our rice flakes are also organic.
What's the difference between white and brown rice?
KoRo has two different types of Basmati rice in its range. Brown Basmati rice is also known as whole grain rice; its grains are completely natural and not peeled, unlike those of the so-called white rice which are peeled. Removing the husk from the grains allows them to be stored longer, and results in a softer texture and shorter cooking time. Of course, our round-grain rice varieties like the pudding and sushi rice also fall under the category of white rice.
Where can I find insporation for rice recipes?
Take a look at the Food journal section of our website, where we collect our favourite recipes, all tested and approved by our KoRo team! Try cooking a delicate and delicious rice porridge, frying your rice Asian-style, and patiently bringing your risotto game to perfection. For the colder months, warm yourself and your loved ones up with comforting rice pudding which you can top with coconut flakes and warm blueberries, or whatever you prefer. Hungry?
Where does KoRo's rice come from?
This depends entirely on the variety. Since our main goal is to give you the best taste experience, we try to get our rice as close as possible to its origin – we all know that the original always tastes better! This is why our organic Jasmine rice comes from Thailand, our Basmati from India, and, of course, our risotto rice from Italy!
Is rice gluten-free?
Rice is naturally gluten-free. However, since cross-contamination can often occur, it is best to look again in detail in the product Specifications of each rice variety.
