The yellow mood makers
Did you know that the pineapple has terrestrial roots (we had to google it too: means soil-dwelling), unlike many other plants in its genus of bromeliads? So the fruit is a special child of the earth - just like you! Its name comes from the GuaranΓ language and means "crested fruit". We think it looks a bit like a punky rock star - and it tastes like one too. It catches you with its equally yellow and delicious colleague, the Brooks mango - also in dried, snackable pieces - and the jackfruit, a special snowflake among the dried fruits. The latter, when harvested ripe, tastes like a mixture of honey, banana and pineapple - a wild combination. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you may know jackfruit as a fibrous meat substitute (these are the less ripe pieces of the giant fruit; they are not as fruity-aromatic) - our dried jackfruit tastes wonderfully fruity fresh.
