For our corn snack you need special roasted corn. This is roasted with vegetable oil and then refined with salt.
The corn plant belongs to the sweet grass family and originates from Mexico. However, corn is not the same as roasted corn, because it has certain properties. The skin of the grains is such that the grains do not pop up and become popcorn. Only the corn grains are doubled in the roasting process. In addition, the plant can grow up to 4 metres high, while other species only grow up to 1-3 metres. The grains are harvested when they are ripe. Then they are hard and dry.
Traditionally, the roasted maize grains are also served with the South American fish dish Ceviche.
Our roasted corn offers an excellent alternative to chips.
