Broad bean, fava bean, faba bean?!

The broad bean belongs to the legume family, more precisely to the subfamily of the papilionaceous plants. It is also called field bean, broad bean, horse bean, faba bean. The broad bean originated around the mediterranean but is grown world wide these days. It was originally considered a "poor people food" and is nowadays used, as it was back then, for soups, puree and salads, often in combination with bacon.

Using roasted and salted broad beans

We don't sell fresh or pickled broad beans in jars, but roasted ones in a handy value pack. No boiling down, no soaking, no pre-sprouting or making any effort. Just open the bag and start snacking! The beans are crunchy and finely spiced. So they're not only delicious snacked on their own, they also refine salads, soups or your lunch bowl. Put the crisps aside for the next evening with friends and replace them with our salty broad beans. Our roasted and salted edamame, the salted black beans or our hearty maize kernels are other great options to serve elegantly in one of our coconut bowls. Another tasty and colourful treat is our bean and pea mix, in which you directly get a combination of different roasted beans and peas!

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

great snack

these saubohnen are the perfect snack for in between or the evening. i also find them not too salty and they complement the tomato chips from koro very well.
they are first mega crunchy and then you have a slightly floury consistency, but all in all a very tasty snack, which I would buy again and again. (I would have ordered directly two packages :'( )

My package of the broad beans were completely salty and not edible, I threw away 3/4 of the package.
