Everything at a glance Red apple chips 250 g
A beautiful and inviting red apple whose smooth skin shines in the sun, can often disappoint when bitten into – floury and mushy, red apples can turn out not to be the snack you were hoping for. Well, we at KoRo have found the solution to this: say goodbye to disappointing red apples and hello to delicious and crunchy apple chips!
Thin and sugar-free apple chips
You might be asking yourself, how come that only 250 g of apple chips fit into such huge bag? The reason is that the drying process removes the majority of the fresh apples' liquid: from 85% water to crispy and feather-light apple chips, the transformation is nothing less than impressive. Moreover, most of the vitamins and nutrients of the fruits are left almost untouched, as the drying process we follow is particularly delicate, and we add no sugar to them! There you go, a 100 % natural snack that will make everybody happy.
High-fibre snack
According to ancient wisdom, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. And there are very good reasons for this popular saying! Apples are a great source of fibre and vitamins, and are super versatile in the kitchen: a spoonful of applesauce brightens up your porridge and make your baked goods extra moist; apple slices wonderfully decorate your pancakes and bowls; and apple juice is simply a breakfast must. Long story short, apples are a true all-rounder that you can now enjoy in the form of crunchy and addictive apple chips! We offer you the red classic, but our selection includes the green version as well – do not hesitate to get both and find out which one will become your new favourite healthy snack.

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Red apple chips 250 g - a look behind the scenes

Belgian apples
Belgium is in no way inferior to the German orchards' production of apples: around 318,411 tons of apples are harvested there every year, and the fruits for our apple chips belong to those.

Harvest begins in September
The apple harvest traditionally begins in September. Apples are ready to be harvested if they have reached the right colour for their kind, and if they respond well to the so-called twist test: as soon as an apple detaches itself from the branch by being poked and gently turned, the harvest can begin.

Apple chips are made
Most of the apple harvest is now dipped in hot water and then stored - thus, the fruits are fresh for months. The production of apple chips, on the other hand, can start right after the harvest. To do this, a machine removes the core of the apples, but the peel is left untouched, as this makes the apple chips ultra crispy.

Extra thin slices
Afterwards, the pitted apples are cut into super thin slices with a so-called guillotine knife – the name says it all! Slices this thin are impossible to make at home.

Only the crunchiest makes it
Our apple rings are not baked in the oven, but dried on heated Teflon tapes: this drying process is gentler than in the one in the oven, as the apples are less exposed to heat. After they have passed the final quality control (what a dream job!), our apple chips are packed and brought to our Berlin warehouse where they wait for your order!
