Are you also a pumpkin fan? The autumn classic can be prepared in many different ways. The vegetable can be roasted, grilled, baked, stuffed, pureed, boiled, steamed and pickled. Moreover, in addition to savory dishes, pumpkins are also suitable for sweet recipes. With this creamy soup, we make it easy for you to start the pumpkin season.


  • First, dice the onion and carrot. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a pot. Add the onion and carrot cubes and sauté briefly.
  • Peel the potatoes and then cut them into small pieces. Wash the pumpkin, cut it open and remove the seeds. In the following, also cut the pumpkin into small pieces, the peel can be eaten as well.
  • Add potato as well as pumpkin pieces to the pot and deglaze the mixture with water. Add the vegetable broth powder and mix well.
  • Put the lid half-open on the pot and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • Then remove the pot from the heat and blend the contents with a blender until creamy. Add a little water if needed.
  • Pour the soup into a bowl and decorate with pumpkin seeds, pine nuts and basil - done!
