Preserves just like grandma's: hearty pickling spices for cucumbers and much more
Use your own vegetables throughout the year with our hearty pickling spices! You can use pretty much all solid vegetables for pickling. Cucumbers are particularly popular, but peppers, beetroot, pumpkin, radishes, onions and courgettes also taste incredibly delicious pickled. It is important that you only use fresh produce for pickling and that you clean it thoroughly beforehand. You can also pickle the vegetables in salt water for 12 hours.
Using our spices
To enjoy your vegetables all year round, you will need about 3 kg of your favourite washed and cut vegetables, 3 tablespoons of our preserving spice mixed with 1.5 litres of water, 500 ml vinegar (10 %), 300 g sugar and about 100 g salt. Et voilà - your secret recipe is ready, which will make even our grannies a little envious. In the first step, you should carefully wash, clean and, if necessary, peel your vegetables. To add the spices, you can then divide the prepared and cut vegetables among screw jars or preserving jars (sterilize the jars by leaving them in boiling water for 10 minutes before filling them) and fill them up to the brim with your boiled spice stock. Finally, seal the jars tightly and leave to cool. You should leave your vegetables to marinate for at least 4 weeks before eating them.

Quick guide on how to use the spices:
Sterilize the jars and distribute about 3 kg of your favourite washed and cut vegetables among the jars. Now mix:
- 1,5 litres water
- 500 ml vinegar (10 %)
- 300 g sugar
- 100 g salt
- 3 tbsps KoRo preserving spices
bring to a boil and fill the jars all the way to the top, then seal airtight. Let pickle for at least 4 weeks before enjoying your delicious preserved vegetables!
