With their small, black and wizened look, Tonka beans might not look like supermodels but they are a real insider tip in every chefs kitchen.
The seeds of the Tonka tree are originally from South America and are also purchased by us from this area. It is very well known and was used as a currency in the 40s in Venezuela. As a symbol of luck and wealth, you can find some Tonka beans in nearly every residents pocket. Luckily, we don't have to pay with them anymore, but we can now enjoy them just for their taste. The beans have an intense smell of vanilla and rum and taste like that combo as well. They are perfect to refine desserts, cakes, jams and porridge. But they can also give savoury dishes like mashed potatoes, curry sauces or fish a nice and surprising touch. Just sprinkle a little bit over the dish with the help of a nutmeg grater and voilà, a whole new tasty world will open right in front of you.

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.
