At home in the tropics
The cashews feel particularly comfortable in the tropical zone. For many years the origin of the cashew trees was only Brazil, but now these all-rounders are also grown in countries such as India, Tanzania, Kenya and Mozambique.

The so-called cashew apples, the fruit of the cashew kernel, grow on the cashew tree.
Ripening
The double pack - consisting of fruit and stone - is fully ripe when it falls to the ground. The fruits are processed directly on site into juice, jam, schnapps, oil or wine, and the kernels go on a journey around the world.
Harvest time
Collect the cashews before they rot! Harvesting several hundred pounds at a time is not uncommon. The harvest always takes place from January to May, depending on the weather conditions, when the fruits are collected, and the cores removed and dried in the sun before having their skin removed. Now they are finally ready to arrive!

I have really tested many cashews and often they were a bit soft after a few days. But the ones from KoRo are still crunchy and taste slightly sweetish - ideal as a cheese substitute for sauces or similar. :)
