Let’s get crafty – DIY projects for comfortable autumn afternoons
Get your autumn decorations out! To really get into the autumnal spirit, you need to decorate your home with season appropriate items both inside and out. Grab your friends and sit down at the big dining table for a cosy craft session or go for a nice autumn walk to collect some great craft materials. By the way, chestnuts also make a great autumn decoration on a tray, stuck into an autumn wreath or strung up as an autumn garland in the entrance hall. At KoRo you can also find the classic mason jars, which you can paint, fill with moss and other fun things and use as a tea light. If you get hungry with all the crafting, how about some home-made chestnuts? But beware: you should not use wild chestnuts, but food safe chestnuts. You can also get into the kombucha game! With our kombucha Scoby you can start your own kombucha culture at home, it's almost as fun as growing your own plants! And since the cold weather may make us all a bit lazy at this time of the year, you can count on the kombucha mushroom's bacteria to do most of the work for you!
The spooky time of the year: Happy Halloween!
Are you planning a spectacular Halloween party? You definitely need the right decor! Fake cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, ghosts hiding in every corner and, of course, pumpkins with scary faces carved in them. But, as we all know, the most important element at any party are the snacks! Our roasted maize, einkorn sticks and organic lentil crisps with peanut bring autumnal snacking fun for everyone. KoRo's pizza crackers, are also loved, pure or with a creamy dip. Add a spicier side to your party-buffet with our chili and lime bean mix, fried chili rice crackers or roasted maize with chili. And Halloween would not be Halloween without sweets! No one can resist our apple pie clusters, vegan chocolate pretzels and candied salted-caramel pecan nuts, and our sour worms with no gelatin are the perfect eerie treat for Halloween. For refreshment, serve our natural apple juice, which tastes even better when you drink it in season. Blood-red cranberry juice makes even the drinks scary, and our ginger and lime kombucha is an unusual sparkling alternative to conventional soft drinks.
Not really in the mood for a party? How about a cozy movie night at home? We provide the necessary salty and sweet microwave popcorn, organic sweet potato crisps, oat biscuits with chocolate drops and much more. If you want to invite guests and serve them home-made treats, we have a few more ideas for you: sweet and salty pretzel treats and quinoa matcha bars which you can shape into little Frankenstein heads. Best of all our Halloween recipes: grab some almonds, spelt flour and flax seeds to create spooky halloween almond fingers!
Follow the trend: latte drinks!
We all know the feeling of spending a small fortune at the coffee shop for a latte. But unfortunately, the milk and coffee combination is just too good and warms us up, so we keep going back. We have the solution for all those who wish to bring the latte making into their homes and save money in the process: for a full load of pumpkin, make a pumpkin spice latte with our pumpkin pie spice mix and add an extra spoonful of pumpkin puree for additional creaminess. You can discover new types and aromas of black tea, cinnamon, cardamon and clove with a tasty chai tea latte — without having to fly abroad. Simply order our organic chai-latte mix and mix into your favourite milk (or milk alternative). You might wish to try the newest trend: golden milk, also known as turmeric latte. What is golden milk? In Ayurvedic cooking, this warm drink is made mainly from milk and turmeric, and it has been used as a remedy for centuries. For us, it has become a usual coffee alternative in the mornings, but also a great drink in the evenings, after work. You can always sweeten the drink to taste, ideally with KoRo's organic maple syrup or organic agave syrup. No matter which drink you opt for, they all have one thing in common: these drinks are perfect for autumn! They can all be made with our barista oat drink – for 100 % vegan fluffy foam!
In the United States, Thanksgiving is a national holiday, which takes place every year on the fourth Thursday of November. Friends and family come together, spend time together and reflect on how grateful they are for each other and everything they have. At the end of the day, everyone eats the traditional Thanksgiving dinner together with plenty of turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and much more.
In Germany, there is a harvest thanking celebration on the first Sunday of October. It is not a big celebration like the American version. Nevertheless, we want to take time to say thank you. Thank you for all the diverse products in our shop. Thank you for the different flavours we have experienced over the past year. Thank you for all the lovely food smells during our tasting rounds and experiments with new recipes. And, of course, thank you for your continuing support, love and curiosity about KoRo and our products. Let's keep this culinary voyage going, together.
