If you are on the search for tasty whole black pepper, you don’t have to go far at all. Because we are bringing you your pepper in a value pack of 1kg directly into your kitchen.

The whole pepper seeds are coming from the pepper plant, which is mostly cultivated in India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Brazil. The fruits of the plant are growing in little ears, while each of those ones can hold up to 150 seeds. The colour of the seeds are very much dependent on how ripe they are. At first the pepper fruit looks quite green and when they are just about to turn orange, they get harvested and dried, which gives them their brown colour and wrinkly structure.

Pepper is unfolding it’s original slightly spicy and herby aroma best, when its fresh grounded. That’s why we only offer whole black pepper, so that you can ground them at home and enjoy. It’s suitable for every vegetable, for meat and fisch and adds a kick to the perfect savoury dish.

Ursprünglich stammt der echte Pfeffer aus der südindischen Malabarküste in Indien. Aber vor ca. 1000 Jahren kam der Pfefferanbau auch nach Indonesien und Malaysia und breitete sich von dort weiter aus. Heutzutage ist Vietnam aufgrund starker Regulierungen der Hauptexporteur für Pfeffer. Insgesamt wurden weltweit im Jahr 2017 ca. 690 Tonnen Pfeffer (piper nigrum) produziert.
