How do I store the tahini and how long is its shelf life?

Our tahini is best stored in a dry and cool place. Unopened, it will keep for at least 36 months.

What is tahini and how is the taste?

Tahin is also called Tahina or Tahini and is a mush or a paste, which is made from finely ground sesame seeds. Especially in Arabic cuisine, tahini is a basic ingredient for many dishes and is indispensable in hummus. The sesame paste does not have the typical nut flavor, but rather goes in a pleasantly bitter direction.

Is tahini gluten-free?

Our organic tahini contains only ingredients that do not naturally contain gluten. However, depending on the growing area, there may be unknowing contamination with gluten-containing grains during harvesting or processing, which is why we do not label the product as gluten-free.

Can I make tahini myself?

Sure, and we'll show you how it's done. The main ingredient is, of course, sesame seeds, but you can also use other ingredients such as agave syrup (for sweeter tahini) or crystal salt. The most important thing is a powerful blender, so that the puree also becomes nice and creamy. Toast the sesame seeds in a pan without oil (please stir constantly) until they are lightly browned. Then you can let it cool down briefly. Finally, put everything in the blender and puree until you get a creamy puree. By the way, this can take 10 minutes, because the seeds are first crushed before the oil comes out and it becomes nice and smooth.

What are the nutritional values for the organic sesame paste?

The puree is rich in dietary fiber. You can also read all the nutrients in the table to the right next to or below the product text and on your product packaging.

Is there a substitute for tahini?

Waiting times are terrible, especially if you absolutely want to try out the latest recipe with the sesame paste. For emergencies, however, we also have alternatives up our sleeve: nut pure e and pumpkin seed puree do not match the taste of our tahini 100%, but behave similarly in consistency.
