What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Organic white chia seeds 1 kg - a look behind the scenes

Cultivated in tropical regions
What the Chia plant loves and needs the most, is warmth

The Chia plant
Thousands of years old, the Chia plants belongs to the sage family and is recognisable from its tiny and beautiful lilac flowers.

Ripening of the seeds
In order to thrive, Chia seeds need sun and warmth, and to be protected from eccessive rain. Chia does not need a particularly rich soil, and can grow without problems on nutrient-poor land.

Harvest takes place in autumn
From around July the flowers of the Chia plant begin to blossom and shine of a bright lilac. The flowering season usually ends between August and September, and before they fall, the seeds can be harvested.

Fun fact
You have probably already asked yourself, what is the difference between black and white chia seeds? Almost none, in fact: their taste and nutritional content are almost identical.

At the moment of sowing, fine grooves are machine-made in the plants before the seeds are planted so that after the chia plants have withered, the so-called seed pods form, in which the chia seeds are located. In November, the chia seeds are finally harvested with the help of combine harvesters, cleaned and packaged.
