Everything at a glance Organic tofu rosso 200 g

As soon as you open the package of our tofu rosso you can catch a glimpse of wonderfully fresh tomatoes. Refined with aromatic herbs from Tuscany, KoRo's organic tofu rosso will spoil your taste buds and inspire you to try out a lot of Mediterranean culinary creations. So as not to take our tofu for a world tour before landing on your plate, we source the soy beans for it from certified organic EU cultivations only.

The perfect ingredient for your creations

Vegetarians and vegans are often looking for new and different alternatives to meat, which at the same time can offer a comparably intense taste experience. Thanks to the fresh herbs with which it is refined, our tofu rosso has a pleasantly spicy, characteristic flavour unlike many other tofu varieties. For those who like it even spicier, we suggest to marinate the tofu with fresh chili oil and garlic: taste explosion guaranteed!

Our Mediterranean spiced tofu is super versatile: you can stir fry it with your favourite veggies, or top your salad with it; you can rely on it for that little extra in your next homemade lasagna, or chop it into tiny pieces for a delicious Bolognese sauce. Long story short, you can use tofu for much more than you might think. Our organic tofu rosso should also be enjoyed roasted on the grill at the next barbecue night with friends, or simply sautéed with zucchini and eggplant. Thanks to its practical vacuum packaging the tofu doesn’t have to be stored in the fridge before opening it. Yippie!

Your plant-based protein source

KoRo's organic tofu rosso is not only a real allrounder, but also suitable for people with gluten or lactose intolerance, as it contains neither gluten nor lactose or milk protein. Nonetheless, tofu is a great source of protein and should not be missing on any kitchen shelf! You can cut it into slices and add it to your bread, or blend it to make your own aromatic vegan tofu spread. There are no limits to your creativity!

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Soy is nowadays mostly grown in South America

Originally from China, the cultivation of soy has been exported a long time ago, and today half of the global production of soybeans comes from South American cultivations. As we don't want our tofu to travel around the world before arriving at your door, we make it from soybeans that are organically grown in the EU.

When nigari is added as a coagulant, the liquid flocculates, and high-quality soy protein is formed. From this mass, solid tofu blocks are finally obtained with the help of a so-called press box. During the last step of the process, the fresh tofu is marinated with a delicious and aromatic tomato sauce. Yum!

Questions about questions Organic tofu rosso 200 g

FAQ-Bereich durchsuchen:

Which tofu varieties are available on the market, and which ones are the most popular?

The best-known types of tofu are silken tofu, natural tofu and smoked tofu. Silken tofu is particularly soft and smooth, great for creating vegan desserts. Natural tofu is firmer and has small holes: it is easy to cut or crumble, and is best suitable for hearty dishes. Smoked tofu tastes intensely smoky and spicy, and is therefore perfect if you don't have enough time to marinate tofu yourself; it goes well with stir-fries and stews, and in sandwiches.

Can tofu be eaten raw?

Yes, tofu can also be eaten straight out of its package, as it is not actually a raw product.

How do I make tofu nice and crispy?

For perfectly crispy tofu, simply cut the block into slices or cubes and fry on all sides with plenty of oil for about 3 minutes. The result: juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Yum!

Favorite tofu - tastes delicious even cold!

This tofu tastes incredibly delicious - even cold. Previously, I could eat tofu only fried and even then only with lots of spices. Very versatile, whether in the tomato sauce, on the bread or in the pita or wrap - I'm really excited,

Would buy it again!

Delicious, good nutritional value - could be a little more spiced to mask the tofu flavor in my opinion. I would still buy it again!
