Everything at a glance Organic thin-rolled oats 2,5 kg

Long been considered an important staple food, oats provide much more than just precious carbohydrates. To obtain all types of oat flakes (large oat flakes, thin-rolled oat flakes, or oatmeal), the whole kernel is processed, including its endosperm, outer layers, and seedling.

Oats are very high-fibre

The outer layers in particular contain a lot of fibre, and it is thanks to these layers that our organic thin-rolled oat flakes contain 11 grams of fibre per 100. Fibre contributes to normal bowel function. Particularly noteworthy is the beta-glucan contained in our flakes, which has a scientifically proven positive effect on the rise in blood sugar levels after meals and on cholesterol levels.

  • The beta-glucan contained in our oatmeal has been shown to reduce the cholesterol level in the blood. High cholesterol is one of the risk factors for coronary heart disease.
  • You need as little as 3 grams of beta-glucan obtained with rolled oats to help maintain your blood cholesterol levels normal.
  • Including beta-glucan in your meal can help make blood sugar levels rise less rapidly.

How to use our thin-rolled oats?

Nice that oats contain so much fibre, but what about their boring and plain taste? If you think that oats are boring, you should stop a second and consider the huge variety of delicious hot and cold oat-based recipes. Tasteless porridge is a thing of the past! Today, porridge is one of the most popular recipes around, as you can refine it with cinnamon and cocoa, cook it with delicate plant-based milk, top it with fresh and dried fruits, and add all sorts of nuts to it. And what about oatmeal cookies or pancakes? There are even a lot of hearty dishes that you can make with oatmeal, such as vegan patties, or vegetable porridge. Prepare your thin-rolled oat flakes according to your taste, and let your creativity run free!

Our European oats are untreated, free of preservatives, and certified organic. You can buy these versatile and long-lasting thin-rolled oat flakes from us in a practical and convenient 2.5 kg value pack – save money and packaging waste!

Varieties and origins

Oats are grown in over 50 countries, with Russia, Canada and Australia being the three largest producers worldwide. In 2017, around 25.9 million tons of oats were harvested. The 20 largest oat producers make up 90% of the global crop. Oat is mainly grown in summer, as it is sensitive to the cold. Oat, however, suffers greatly during dry spells as well, and is therefore generally not cultivated in southern Europe and other warm areas.

  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.

An organic basic in my koro shopping!

The Koro organic oatmeal is one of my basics that I always order from Koro. Especially great I find the organic quality from Germany - and even as a bulk pack! I have not yet been able to find in the supermarket. Since they come with me daily in the breakfast bowl or are also processed into granola, I can only recommend them! I combine them in breakfast super happy with the organic 4-grain flakes, so you stay satiated for a long time.

I am very disappointed. The oatmeal is not tasty (somehow bitter or more severe than others) and when cooking for porridge or overnight not really creamy at all, as I know it from other products. My baby doesn't like them either and so far she loves lean flakes. Too bad, because I thought I can save packaging and no longer have to constantly buy in the supermarket (because we eat really vieeeeeele oatmeal). I had had the standard variant and will not buy it again.

Oats are a staple with us. We eat so much in the morning that it's really worth it to buy a big bag. A little hard to just dump that into the cereal bowl, which is why we keep replenishing into smaller containers. Great!
