Everything at a glance Organic tapioca syrup 1 litre

If you want to avoid refined sugar as much as possible and are looking for a natural and low-fructose alternative, you have landed on the right page. From now on, there's a wonderful newcomer to our KoRo's family which will make your dreams come true – welcome our organic tapioca syrup!

Tapioca syrup – what is it actually?

Never heard of tapioca? Prepare to have your life changed, because once you get to know this incredible all-rounder, you are going to wonder how you managed to do without it for so long. Our organic syrup is a natural sugar substitute that is obtained from the cassava root. A tasteless vegetable starch, tapioca is best known from the trendy drink bubble tea – the so-called tapioca pearls; but this plant offers so much more! To find out what exactly tapioca actually is, let's take a look at South America, where the cassava root has its origin. The starch is obtained from a small tuber, which is used as the basis for the syrup. For our tapioca syrup we only use ingredients from certified organic agriculture.

Natural sweetness

Agave syrup, maple syrup and honey have long been some of the most popular and reliable natural sugar alternatives on the market. With all of these choices, you are probably asking yourself: why do we need something so exotic like tapioca syrup? The question is answered quickly, because, exactly as sugar is not just sugar, syrup is not just syrup: in contrast to agave and maple syrup, our tapioca syrup does not contain any fructose and is therefore ideal as a vegan substitute for honey & Co. If you want to avoid sugar and foods with a high fructose content, tapioca syrup can be your personal saviour.

Pleasant sweetness to refine your creations with

You prefer a slightly sweet aroma? Then you simply must try our organic tapioca syrup! The syrup contains around 75% of the sweetness of conventional household sugar and gives your dishes a pleasant sweetness – without any inherent taste. Our organic tapioca syrup is a purely natural product: 100% natural sweetness without added sugar and artificial flavours!

Recipes with tapioca syrup

Now you are probably wondering how to best use this syrup. As unique as it is, its applications are countless. Due to its thick consistency and creamy texture, tapioca syrup can be used wherever agave syrup and honey are employed. Whether as an addition to herbal and fruit teas, in a cool iced latte, or for summer lemonades – the syrup is ideal for sweetening drinks, and it also works very well in soft baked goods such as waffles, banana bread, or cookies. Similar to honey, you can also use the syrup as a sweetener for yoghurts or to prepare creamy desserts. But that's not all: thanks to the tapioca starch it contains, the syrup not only gives baked goods and desserts a pleasant sweetness, but also proves to be a helpful binding agent, for example when making beaten egg whites – two birds with one stone!

Tapioca syrup in a convenient glass

As you can see, tapioca syrup is not just another fancy sweetener among the sugar alternatives, and poses a serious threat to its competitors such as agave syrup and sugar beet syrup – and rightly so! Drinks, teas and desserts in particular need a delicate, sweet note able to leave their taste unadulterated. How practical that we deliver our delicious syrup directly in a convenient one-litre glass! Get ready try out all kinds of delicious sweet and guilt-free creations!

In case you are looking for a syrup with a more decisive taste, we can recommend our delicious date syrup or coconut blossom syrup!

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Questions about questions Organic tapioca syrup 1 litre

Why is this tapioca syrup so special?

From xylitol and erythritol to agave syrup and coconut blossom sugar – there are so many alternatives to conventional sugar! Tapioca syrup, however, does not contain any fructose and is therefore particularly suitable for people with a fructose intolerance or those who want to reduce their fructose intake. Moreover, because of its thick texture, tapioca syrup is the perfect vegan honey substitute! Our organic syrup is a natural product and does not contain any artificial additives – only pure natural sweetness!

How many calories does tapioca syrup have?

100 grams of our organic tapioca syrup have 322 kcal - a bit less than conventional refined sugar.

Is tapioca syrup healthy?

Above all, a wholesome and balanced diet is healthy. Despite its naturalness, with 65 grams per 100, tapioca syrup is mostly made of sugar. If you want to eat healthily, you should not consume excessive amounts of sugar in your diet - of any kind. Nevertheless, our tapioca syrup is a good alternative if you want to do without refined table sugar or if you don't tolerate fructose well.

Is this syrup organic?

The cassava roots from which we obtain the tapioca starch are 100% organically grown. Its further processing into tapioca syrup is also subject to strictly supervised conditions.

Is the syrup of the tapioca root vegan?

Our syrup is made from the cassava root, and, since we do not use any additives, it is 100% plant-based. This is why tapioca syrup is the ideal vegan alternative to honey.

Does this syrup contain sugar?

Tapioca syrup is considered a sugar alternative, as the sweetness it contains is 100 % natural, and we do not add sugar or other sweeteners to it. Tapioca syrup is considered fructose-free and with a glucose percentage of around 30, it contains only a small amount of natural sugar - the one it does contain is primarily composed of dextrose and maltose.

How should I store tapioca syrup?

To make sure that syrup keeps its characteristics intact as long as possible, you should always store it in a cool and dry place, and protect it from light and direct sunlight. Unopened, the syrup can be stored for two years. After opening, you should use it up within 30 days; tapioca syrup can change its colour a little over time, but this does not affect the taste or quality.

What is the perfect dosage of tapioca syrup?

Tapioca syrup has about 75% the sweetness of table sugar. This means that when you would use a spoonful of refined sugar, you need a little more tapioca syrup to achieve the same level sweetness.
