Everything at a glance Organic soy chunks 1 kg

Everyone in Germany is already talking about them and now they are making their way to the UK. Soy chunks are, like the name suggests, a soy based meat substitute. The soy bean is getting washed, peeled and afterwards grounded into flour. Afterwards the oil is pressed out of the flour, so the actual oil content is under 5%. Through extrusion the soy slices are getting their shape and form.

At first sight it may remind you of minced meat, but that's just your brain playing tricks with you, because it definitely is 100% soy. So go on, take your bolognese to the next level, spread them over your salad or muesli. There are really no limits for the usage of our soy chunks. And make sure to try out the smaller form (soy granules) as well.

  • Price Graph Icon

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Best on the market

I've tried all the brands of these dehydrated soy products that I know of. I'm also a fan of them because they are a good staple, but have to say that the bigger the product the harder it is to get flavor in. After all, it's often the case that no matter how long and how intensely seasoned, these dried soy things always taste slightly sweet. Here, the size is optimal, and that's probably why that's minimally the case. Beyond that, I really have to say, the consistency is incredibly good, much better than any of the others. I just soak them in enough hot water to just moisten them, then I don't have to squeeze the water out again.
Then I marinate them for at least a day. Then I roast them, or they go in the oven, or whatever else I can think of. And the result is always top! Especially in stews they are a dream but also delicious in vegan butter chicken or grilled as souvlaki on small skewers. Of course anything goes, you can get really creative here.
Compliments to KoRo! but a request: make soy big steaks, maybe they will be much better than the competition and I can once again make a vegan cheap schnitzel that doesn't taste like sponge or at least feels like it.
By the way, I find a manual superfluous, there is the Internet, and soo many possibilities and you can save a larger label.
Even more different sizes would be great, as already here often in the comments!

Consistency and taste rather poor

At first it was really fun to cook with the coarse soy granules. With time, however, you realize that this granulate is really at most only for stew dishes. I have tried many times to make the granules taste better by frying them, but it doesn't work. It is simply much too soft and always very strange in consistency. For stews I rather recommend the pea granules which you can buy at Korodrogerie. Tastes better, can be processed much better and the consistency is not so strange. Would not buy it again and instead prefer to buy the variant with larger pieces of yellow peas.

Very good product

The soy cutlet is very tasty. I have tried many others but this one I find the best. The price-performance ratio is right. I have already ordered it a few times.
