Everything at a glance Organic Sencha green tea 500 g

If there is nothing you love more than the smell of freshly brewed tea, then you are going to fall in love with our Chinese Sencha. When the tiny, delicate leaves are covered in hot (but not boiling!) water, they release a fresh, uniquely acerbic smell that will take you directly to ancient China.

Unsweetened green Sencha is China's most popular tea, whose pleasantly invigorating qualities people swear by. Green tea does in fact originate from China, and even Japan's century-old tea tradition comes from there. Our Chinese Sencha is good for you and for your wallet, as it is a cheaper alternative to Japanese Sencha tea.

Produced Japan-style, which means that the tea leaves are not roasted by just steamed, our Sencha green tea is completely free from pesticides.

The fresh and powerful taste of Sencha is the perfect, energetic start of your day, and pulls you out of your afternoon slumber! And in summer, you can enjoy it as ice tea; let it cool down in your fridge for a while, then add a couple of ice cubes and a slice of lemon, and enjoy your low-calorie, high-energy refreshing drink – a great alternative to industrial ice teas full of sugar.

KoRo now offers you a top-quality loose Sencha tea so delicious that you will never be able to do without it again!

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Questions about questions Organic Sencha green tea 500 g

Where does this tea come from?

Our green tea comes from the region of Zhejiang Qian Dao Hu in China. Green tea has been cultivated in China for thousands of years, and actually originates from there. Green tea plays still today a central role in Chinese culture.

How do I prepare this Sencha tea?

When preparing green tea, there are a couple of things to which you have to pay attention: its short brewing time, and the water temperature. Cover your Sencha leaves with hot, but not boiling water (about 60°C) and let brew for no more than two minutes. You can use the Sencha leaves more than once. Of course, you can enjoy Sencha green tea as an ice tea too! Refrigerate for a while, serve with some ice cubes and a slice of lemon, and voilà! Your low-calorie and high-energy refreshing summer drink is ready!

Is green tea good to lose weight?

Nowadays, you can read and hear everywhere about the supposedly miraculous properties of green tea. Unfortunately, there is no scientific evidence showing that green tea is good to lose weight. If you are trying to shed a few pounds, the most important things you have to pay attention to are: a calorie deficit, and a healthy, balanced, and varied diet. Physical activity is also crucial! Our Sencha green tea can, of course, be a wonderful and healthy replacement for high-sugar beverages, and thus a great help in your weight-loss journey!

Is this green tea organic?

Yes, our Chinese Sencha is grown organically and absolutely pesticide-free, so that you can enjoy it without a second thought!

Does green tea contain caffeine?

Yes, green tea does contain caffeine, and is therefore a popular coffee substitute. Its effect is quite similar to that of coffee, but takes a bit longer to be felt, and lasts longer. If you are particularly sensitive to caffeine, you should avoid drinking our Sencha tea in the late afternoon and evening, and enjoy it only in the morning for a delicious energy-kick.

How long does this Sencha green tea keep?

After production, our Sencha tea keeps for about 36 months. Store it in an air-tight container, and in a cool and dry place, to preserve its aroma and properties intact.

Does green tea affect the digestive tract?

One often reads that green tea can stimulate digestion. It is however questionable whether green tea is a panacea for constipation, and we cannot confirm this.

Can I drink green tea when pregnant or breastfeeding?

It is advisable to significantly reduce caffeine consumption during pregnancy: you can drink green tea, but you should have not more than one cup a day, and ensure that it is prepared correctly in terms of temperature and brewing time. It is also important that the tea is free of pesticides, and the Chinese Sencha that you can buy from KoRo comes from pesticide-free, organic agriculture. If you are unsure about the amount, contact your doctor.
