Everything at a glance Organic red lentil fusilli 2 kg
Our organic red lentil fusilli are naturally gluten-free. To make sure that the pasta keeps its desired al-dente and preferably not floury texture, the lentils are ground very finely and then mixed up with some linseed flour, which is afterwards extruded by pressing the mixture into the desired shape and letting it dry. During this process, we avoid high temperatures in order to prevent the pasta from losing its nutrients.
KoRo's lentil fusilli have a pleasant, fine taste that won't overshadow the full flavour of your favourite sauce.
Our organic fusilli must be cooked for just 4 to 5 minutes, and are the perfect pasta to be embraced and covered up by the delicious souce you have prepared, as they are all curves and cavities! Enjoy them in a summer-y pasta salad, hot casserole, or simply with our red or green pesto for a quick, healthy dinner.

Varieties and origins

Red lentils
Our red lentils come from Turkey, and are, most of the times, peeled brown mountain lentils. With a width of 3 to 4 mm, they have a warm colour that can go from pink to orange and bright red. Their taste is sweet and delicate.
Yellow lentils
Yellow lentils are peeled brown or green lentils. With a diametre of 4 to 5 mm, their taste is a bit bitter than that of red lentils, but is still gentle, nutty and creamy.
Green lentils
Green lentils have a diameter of about 6-7 mm, and their colour range goes from yellow-green to a dark olive-green.
Brown lentils
Just like green lentils, to whose family they belong, brown lentils have a medium diameter of 6 to 7 mm, and are perfect for your soups!
Troja lentils
Troja lentils are sisters of green and brown lentils too, and are of about the same size. Depending on their age, their colour goes from beige to light brown
Mountain lentils
Mountain lentils are tiny and have a aromatic and delicate taste. Depending on their origin, they can have different shades of brown and red, but all of them are perfect for salads and veggie burgers.
Belunga lentils
With a medium diameter of 2 to 3 mm, Beluga lentils are the tiniest lentils, and, due to their black coloration, they look like caviar! Beluga lentils are very fine and particularly aromatic.
Alb-Leisa I
Belonging to the Alb family, Alb-Leisa I lentils come from the German region of the Swabian Alb. Ochre to light green, these lentils are very intense and nutty in taste.
Alb-Leisa II
Cultivated in the Swabian Alb region as well, Alb-Leisa II lentils measure 3 to 4 mm in diameter, have a beautiful marbled or spotted skin, and taste nutty and aromatic.
Berry lentils
Berry lentils are grown around Paris and are peculiarly round. With a beautiful, blueish and greenish marbled skin, they are similar to Puy lentils, which come from France as well. Berry lentils have a very aromatic taste.
Château lentils
A French specialty, Château lentils grow in the Champagne area and are therefore often referred to as Champagne lentils. Their diameter is 4-5 mm, their skin brownish-red, and their taste delicately nutty.
Around 6.3 million tons of lentils were harvested worldwide in 2018. Canada is the first producer with around 3.3 million tons, and India is the second, harvesting approximately 1.1 million tons in 2018. Edible lentils are grown almost everywhere in the world. Particularly popular varieties are red lentils, mountain lentils, beluga lentils and puy lentils.

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.
