Chili con/sin carne, tortillas, burritos, tacos or fajitas would all be only half as delicious without the Mexican hero-ingredient. Does the kidney bean make you think of colourful sombreros, mysterious Mayan temples and sunshine? We have great news for you: You don't have to get on a plane, just do one thing: open the 2 kg value pack from KoRo. After soaking, you can use the protein-rich legume for vegetarian and vegan delicacies and conjure up a variety of dishes from it. Buy our organic kidney beans now and bring Mexico into your home kitchen. The dark red legumes owe their name to their kidney-like shape. The legume originally comes from Peru and needs a humid climate to grow. Kidney beans are therefore mainly cultivated in America and Africa. Questions & answers: Organic kidney beans 2 kg
Please keep the beans in a cool, dry place and protect them from heat.
Legumes can cause flatulence and/or constipation in your four-legged friend and should only be fed in small quantities. Please talk again with your veterinarian about it. However, your four-legged darling should not go empty-handed: Exclusively for him or her, we also have balanced dog food in premium quality in our assortment.
Healthy is above all a whole-food, balanced diet. Our kidney beans have per 100 g 46 g of carbohydrates, 21 g of protein and 15 g of fiber. Thus, they have a high protein and fiber content. You can find all the information about nutritional values and ingredients under or next to the product text in our online store....
If you rinse our kidney beans thoroughly before consumption, soak them well and consume them in normal quantities, there should be no objection to their consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, it is best to ask your doctor if you are unsure.
Looking for a kidney beans recipe? Don't worry, the selection of delicious dishes and creative recipes is huge. For example, we love them in salads with corn, feta, tuna, tomatoes and/or tofu. Burger patties with oatmeal, stews, curry dishes, meatballs, hummus and other delicious stir-fry dishes can also be prepared with the legumes. Kidney beans even taste great in sweet dishes like chocolate cake. Vegan brownies made with kidney beans are now a common treat. Which, of course, always goes: bowl toppings made with protein-rich legumes. Try your way through the delicious options now! Before further processing of the dried kidney beans, however, they must first be cooked. There are two ways to do this: Either soak the beans in a bowl of cold water for 6-8 hours (or overnight), then rinse them well and cook them for about 30-40 minutes. Or you can cook the kidney beans directly (without soaking) in boiling water for about 60-70 minutes. Afterwards, rinse them with cold water and you are ready to cook.
Per 100 g our organic kidney beans provide 337 kcal.
You've probably heard the saying, "Every little bean makes a sound": kidney beans are a source of fiber and can cause flatulence if eaten in excess. Wash them thoroughly before eating, soak them well, and it's best to chew slowly and thoroughly.

Varieties & Origin

Light red kidney beans

Very similar to the dark red variety, the colour of these beans is slightly lighter, and their skin is thinner. They are particularly popular in Portugal, Spain, and the Carribean.

Originally from Peru, in colonial times kidney beans found their way to Europe and Asia. Some regions of America and Africa are particularly well suited for growing kidney beans, as they need a humid climate to thrive; China grows kidney beans as well. Exact numbers of kidney bean cultivation worldwide cannot be found; the numbers you see on this map refer to different types of dry bean cultivation, and it can be assumed that kidney beans are the largest slice of the total.

Constantly sold out

Unfortunately, like so many goods constantly sold out. Slowly it sucks....

Our feedback: Hey Jule, vielen Dank für Dein Feedback. Es tut total leid, dass die Bohnen so oft ausverkauft sind. Die neue Lieferatung sollte Anfang März eintreffen, wir hoffen das es diesmal mit Deiner Bestellung klappt. Liebe Grüße Dein KoRo Team :)

You have to allow plenty of time when cooking or soak the day before, otherwise top!

Super product, need in my opinion significantly longer until they are really soft as it is indicated on the package.
