Our Jasmine rice is grown organically in Thailand, where it thrives in the rich and swampy soil of the regions along the Chao Phraya river. Rice is the fourth most cultivated plant in the world, after the sugar cane, corn, and wheat.
Named after Jasmine flowers
Jasmine rice has the name of one of the world's most famous and delicate flowers. Due to the flowery scent that pervades the kitchen where it is cooked, on Jasmine rice was bestowed this beautiful name. If it reminds you of something, it might be that you smelled it in essential oils, perfumes, or Jasmine tea.
Dried, sorted, and peeled
Once dried, the harvest is sorted by hand, to separate the good rice grains from the broken ones. Afterwards, the silver peel of the grains is removed in a mill, to make the grains last longer - Jasmine rice keeps for up to 24 months - and cook faster.
