Varieties and origins

Hemp, or industrial hemp, is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species that is grown specifically for the industrial uses of its derived products. 25 kinds of hemp are grown worldwide. Besides being used in the textile industry (hemp fibres are very resistant), hemp is cultivated for its seeds, which are incredibly rich in oil and nutrients. Hemp originates from China, where, in 2800 BC was already being used for making ropes. Today, commercial hemp's global acreage is between 60,000 and 100,000 hectares on average, with yearly fluctuations. In 2018, Cina, Canada, and the EU counted 150.000 hectares in total among them. More exact numbers are unknown, The numbers on the map date from 2017 and indicate the cultivation in hectares.

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Good protein powder for after workout shakes or morning power smoothies.

Another great protein powder that I like to use to easily meet my protein budget even as a vegan.

Hemp protein is for me as a vegan the

Hemp protein is the best source of protein for me as a vegan, because it tastes good in porridge and I am really well saturated after exercise! I almost think it could be a little stronger in taste, otherwise it can be used super for everything possible (smoothie, muesli, pastries..) and I use it every day!
