This is why we simply had to include chickpea flour in our selection. This versatile powder will surprise you with its typical nutty and sweet taste which will add a delicious Oriental-like note to your dishes. We are sure that you are going to fall in love with it, and have therefore packed our beautiful yellow flour in a practical one-kilo bag. Have fun with it!
The Oriental legume
If you compare the two, chickpeas and peas do not seem to have much in common – but they both belong to the legume family, and are a very convenient, nutritious, and versatile staple food. Chickpeas are particularly beloved and relied-upon in India, North Africa, and the Middle East, where they are often the star of delicious regional specialties like delicious hummus, falafel, and currys. Chickpeas are so versatile and tasty, and the flour obtained by grounding them just as well! The only thing you have to keep in mind, is that, just like whole chickpeas, this flour cannot be consumed raw, as the chickpeas are not heat-treated in advance. In this raw state, chickpeas contain the protein phasin, which is toxic to the human body. Once heated, however, it disappears completely, making our flour a nutritious and tasty alternative to wheat flour.
High-protein chickpea flour
Our fine chickpea flour is, as we have already mentioned, very versatile. Perfect for making falafel, hummus, high-protein pizza dough, or for thickening your currys and sauces, chickpea flour is not only delicious, but also a nutrient-rich ingredient which will surprise you with its properties too. Being produced by 100 % chickpeas, it contains all the incredible nutritional values of the tiny but powerful legumes; with 14 grams of fibre and 22 of protein per 100, our beautiful-looking flour is a true protein bomb! No need to say much more – the numbers speak the truth! Don't you think it is time for you to give this amazing all-rounder a try?
What makes our chickpea flour so special
Our chickpea flour consists of 100% organically cultivated chickpeas. It does not require any further additives and provides you with the delicious nutty-sweet taste of the chickpea in a fine powder form. As an alternative to conventional types of flour such as wheat, almond, or coconut flour, chickpea flour is a real asset in every kitchen. Of course, the flour is also completely plant-based and gluten-free. Now, hurry up and buy chickpea flour now, so that you can start creating lots of oriental and exotic delicacies!

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Organic chickpea flour 1 kg - a look behind the scenes

Originally from subtropical regions
Chickpeas love a warm climate with a lot of sun. As they do not need much water, they are perfect for subtropical regions, where growing them is very easy. India and Australia are the world's primary producers, but they grow very well in certain European regions.

Chickpeas grow on herbaceous plants
Chickpea plants are a annual herbaceous plants whose height can, depending on the variety, oscillate between 40 cm and one metre. Their flowers are white, pink, or dark red. Each plant grows, normally, two large, uneven seeds - our chickpeas!

Cultivated since the Stone Age
The history of chickpeas can be traced back to ten thousand years ago. Ancient findings document Neolithic cultivations in parts of today's Turkey, where these legumes were already being used as food. Only much later did the plant spread to Europe, like Greece and Italy, where they have been grown and eaten for thousands of years.

Drying
After the successful harvest, the chickpeas must be dried first, in order to obtain the versatile flour that we want to bring to you. The seeds are not treated with too much heat, which is why the finished product should not be consumed raw.

Freshly ground and immediately packed up
Finally, our dried chickpeas are ground. The resulting flour has the fine yellow colour typical of chickpeas and is immediately filled into the practical bulk packaging which will reach our warehouse

Super lecker!
Great for baking bread!

Great price-performance ratio
In our country, chickpea flour is only available in health food stores and is quite expensive there. Because I need it for many vegan recipes, the 1kg bag is great. As soon as the bag is open, I fill the flour then always around, so that I can store it nice and airtight.

For chickpea bread optimal without much work
Not yet tested, but makes a very good impression in terms of packaging and quality. The price is unbeatable for the package size

Great as an egg replacement
Great taste, use it as a binder or vegan egg substitute, eg in frittata or vegan omlette!!!
