Cinnamomum verum, called true cinnamon tree or Ceylon cinnamon tree, is a small tree belonging to the family Lauraceae, which is native in Sri Lanka. In contrast to the cheaper Cassia or China cinnamon, Ceylon Cinnamon contains only very small and harmless amounts of coumarin.
