Everything at a glance Organic canned green edamame soybeans 130 g

Whether on your trip to Japan or the last time you went out for sushi, once you have tasted edamame, you just want more of it! The little Japanese legumes can be bought fresh, frozen or roasted. We now also offer edamame in a tin. If you want to have the legume in stock at all times, act fast: buy canned edamame now and enjoy the Japanese flair!

Origin of green soybeans

Edamame (pronounced ee·da·maa·me) are green soybeans, picked when still unripe. They have a light nutty and mildly sweet flavour. The plant is originally from Japan. It takes about 2-3 months before the little green peas are harvested. Edamame roughly translates to "bean on the stalk" and they are also called "lucky beans". Our organic edamame beans are processed 6 hours after being harvested at the latest, meaning they are extremely fresh. We simply add water and Italian sea salt, foregoing any additives or artificial aromas. The problem with many canned food producers is that rehydrated vegetables are used in detriment of fresh product. Dried peas, beans and the like are soaked in water. We don't need to do that, since our edamame are grown in Italy and directly processed on site. You get a tin of pure freshness!

Note: The liquid contained in the can may be thick to jelly-like. No need to worry, this is typical for soybeans and happens naturally. Small white spots are also absolutely normal, as these are starch grains contained in the beans. Therefore, please wash your edamame beans thoroughly before further processing.

Buy organic edamame online

Simple open the tin and snack away! The pre-cooked organic edamame don't have to be peeled, they are ready to eat. You can use them to top your salads and bowls, use them as an exctiting alternative to peas and beans or make them into a creamy dip. If you are looking for inspiration, you can always have a look into our Food Journal, and do not forget to add edamame to your basket now. If you want a saltier snack, we recommend our roasted and salted edamame or the bean and pea mix. Buy green soybeans now and enjoy the ready to eat Asian snack!

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Organic canned green edamame soybeans 130 g - a look behind the scenes

Harvesting-2_zugeschnitten

BIO_Edamame_02_zugeschnitten

Unsere Edamame Konserve macht Druck

Auto-was?

Questions about questions Organic canned green edamame soybeans 130 g

Search in our FAQ section::

What is so special about canned green soybeans?

Without peeling, you can snack on the tasty beans directly from the can and refine various dishes with them. Our organic edamame beans are processed fresh no more than six hours after harvesting. We only add water and Italian sea salt and do not use any other additives or flavourings. The problem with many canned food producers is that they do not use fresh material and therefore resort to rehydrated vegetables. In other words, peas and the like are soaked in water again. This is not necessary for us, because our edamame beans are grown in Italy and processed directly there. Pure fresh enjoyment straight from the can!

Edamame? What is that anyway?

Edamame are green soybeans that are harvested unripe. They originally come from Japan. The plant grows about one metre high. It takes about 2-3 months to harvest the small peas. Did you know that edamame literally means "bean on a branch"?

Are edamame healthy?

A balanced, wholesome diet is healthy. With 5.2 g of dietary fibre per 100 g, these little beans are a source of fibre that will add a nutty, mild flavour to your dishes.

Can I eat edamame beans during pregnancy?

As long as you eat edamame in moderation, we don't see a problem with eating it during pregnancy. However, it is best to talk to your doctor to be absolutely sure.

Good alternative

Very good alternative to frozen beans, if you want to use them as a side dish for dishes or in soups, salads or for bowls. The beans from the can in a sieve and rinse with water - simply delicious.
Only as a snack I prefer to use the frozen pods.

Different than imagined.

I was thinking the dark green crunchy beans from the Asian place. These here in the can are too pale, slimy, slimy and taste like asleep feet. Unfortunately, so not my taste.

Hey Jeannette, thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that the beans do not meet your expectations. Thatthe contained liquid can be jelly-like and viscous and you should rinse the beans before consumption, is all detailed as a note in the description of the product.Maybe you try another variety of beans in the can, surely you will find a variety that meets your taste. Kind regards from your KoRo Team :)
