What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

Legumes mix 1 kg - a look behind the scenes

Legume cultivation
The cultivation of legumes as food can be traced back to 10,000 years ago. The different species have individual demands on their culture conditions

There are many species of legumes
Peas, lentils and chickpeas (picture) grow on annual herbaceous plants. With a total of around 730 genera and almost 20,000 species, legumes are among the most species-rich plant families.

Peas are the most delicate
The pea plant grows best in moist clay soils, and are very sensitive to frost. In Central Europe, peas are sown in spring, from March to April, and germinate in autumn, but do not bloom and bear fruit until the following summer. The lentil plant, on the other hand, is very undemanding and thrives best on barren, calcareous soils. Apart from its heat requirement, the chickpea is also undemanding and drought-resistant.

Green or dry harvesting
All three types legumes open up, when ripe, on the belly or back seams. To get the most tender fruits, the picking should begin when the pods are still very green

Let's hurry up now!
As the taste of many legumes changes as they are picked, since bitter substances can form during subsequent ripening, legumes must be processed fast. Our legumes are delivered to the production plant immediately after harvest, where they are usually processed within the first two hours. In the factory, the goods are first prepared - that is, sorted out, washed and cleaned.

In addition to preserving aroma, natural colour and important nutrients, drying the legumes has another advantage: if stored in air-tight packagings and containers, dried food has a super long shelf-life. After drying, our legumes are mixed and packed in the practical value bags without any flavouring, colouring or preservatives, and await for you to buy them, in our Berlin warehouse.

Legumes can be a game-changer for your diet. Freshly harvested peas, lentils and chickpeas are gently dried and combined for this high-quality legume mix from KoRo. Packed airtight, they come to your home without additives in a practical value pack which saves plastic and offers you enough supplies for trying out as many colourful stews, soups, curries and salads as you want. Our new legumes mix brings colour to your recipes and adds your creations an extra portion of protein (21.7 g) and fibre (16.4 g).
How many calories does this legumes mix have?
Our legumes mix has 315 calories, 42 g of carbohydrates and 21,7 g of protein per 100 g. The complete nutritional values are printed on the label and written on the product description page.
Are legumes good to lose weight?
If you want to eat feweer carbohydrates, or even pursue weight loss goals with a low-carb diet, you also have to look carefully at legumes. With 42 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams, our legume mix is lower in carbohydrates than other common side dishes, but is still not low-carb. However, our legume mix is low in fat and is a good source of protein. The calorie counters should be pleased with the high fibre content of this mix; fibre is largely undigested, but it is a super important part of a balanced diet.
Are legumes high-protein?
Yes, our legumes mix has 21,7 g of protein per 100 g! Protein is important for building and maintaining muscle mass, protecting the bones, and keeping us satiated.
Is this mix vegan?
Yes, our legume mix consists of 100% legumes (peas, lentils and chickpeas) and is therefore completely plant-based and suitable for a vegan diet.
Why are legumes healthy?
Legumes are high in fibre, which supports intestinal activity and is an important part of a balanced diet. Legumes also have a high protein content, which helps maintain muscle mass and healthy bones. We decided to process our legumes as gently and little as possible: in contrast to many canned products, our legumes are not heated during the manufacturing process and, as a result, most of their nutritional values are almost the same as those of freshly harvested legumes.
Do legumes have an effect on our digestive system?
If you experience digestive problems or gas after eating legumes, it could be due to the abundance of fibre in legumes: however, fibre is an important part of a balanced diet and can prevent and reverse intestinal disorders such as constipation and diarrhoea. For a problem-free enjoyment of legumes, the combination with herbs and spices, such as fennel, caraway and aniseed, may help. If in doubt, consult your doctor in order to rule out possible intolerances.
Are legumes gluten-free?
Yes, legumes are gluten-free; our mix can therefore be enjoyed by people who suffer from celiac disease.
Can I eat legumes while breastfeeding?
Since legumes are high in protein, they can help you meet your daily needs when breastfeeding. However, legumes are also high in fiber: in order not to harm the well-being of your child, as a nursing mum you should integrate gradually small portions of legumes into your diet.

I use the legume mix very much for curry dishes with vegetables. Since the pulses are chopped, the preparation is quick and easy. I will definitely order the mix again.
