Vegan Bell Pepper Spread

This spread is the perfect vegan alternative for everyone craving cheese or sausage on their bread. Especially the sunflower seeds give the spread a special taste and are rich in nutrients and healthy ingredients. Preparing your own spread at home has never been easier!

Ingredients:

  •  50 g sunflower seeds
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1 - 2 tsp curry powder
  • 3 - 4 tsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • pepper
  • cucumber and/ or basil for decoration

Preparation

First preheat the oven (180°C). Wash and cut the bell peppers in half. Remove the seeds and place them with the open side downwards on a baking tray. Leave the halves for around 30 – 45 minutes in the oven. In the meantime, cover the sunflower seeds in water and let them sit for 30 minutes. Peel off the bell peppers skin and cut them into smaller pieces. Finally, you can blend all ingredients until everything is well combined. If needed you may add some water. Garnish your bread with some cucumber, tomatoes and basil.
