The virus COVID-19 has the world in suspense and has effects, positive as negative, also on ourselves.
Higher order volume
In spite (or rather because) of the coronavirus crisis we have a lot of orders. The amount of orders has almost doubled in the last weeks! This came so unexpectedly that our logistics team couldn't really prepare for it and this is currently leading to delivery delays.
The current delivery time amounts at one week after the entrance of the order. The higher order volumes represent a challenge for our logistics team, but we are doing our best to reduce the backlogs. Our whole warehouse staff is doing overtime hours in order to be able to handle the order volume.
We adapted our purchasing volumes to the current situation and our warehouses are getting restocked.
Switch over to alternative suppliers
Some of our suppliers are having delivery bottlenecks though. So as to be able to deliver our products as usual we need to switch over to alternative suppliers, which offer the goods at higher purchase prices. Therefore, since we also need to operate with a healthy margin we decided to adjust the minimum margin (read more about how we calculate our prices here).
This price adjustment doesn't concern all of our products. For a wide range of products nothing changes, such as for our organic peanut butter, organic mango brooks and the organic date hazelnut spread, while products such as cashew nuts rise in price from 14,50 £ to 16,50 £.
As there is still uncertainty regarding how the current situation will continue, we are going to keep you updated.
