Raspberries belong to a plant species from the subgenus Ideaobatus family in the genus Rubus within the rosaceous. Raspberries as we know them today are originating from the European raspberries. Raspberry is a small and sour berry which was first cultivated in the Middle Ages. It has been established that raspberries were first cultivated in England in 1600s. What is more, there are over 200 different varieties of raspberry berries.
Dry raspberries at KoRo are free from any added preservatives and sugars. They taste sweet naturally and contain more Vitamin C than a whole orange.

Why is there a price fluctuation? The harvest of raw products is not linear and is very much depending on external factors, like for example the weather or climate. Are these conditions not ideal and the gathering of the product is low, the price gets higher and we have to pay more. This is why we continuously reject contracts with producers that are longer than one season.

What advantages does freeze-drying have?
Because the manufacturing is very gentle to the Vitamins, all the valuable nutritions are still in the fruit. The process doesn’t not only make the fruit taste a bit sweeter but is also environmental friendly. Because the strawberries only need to be cultivated seasonal, less greenhouses need to be managed.
