Everything at a glance Dried kaki persimmons 500 g

Divine! In this case, we don't just mean the taste of this fruit, but also its name. The kaki is the fruit of the kaki tree (Diospyros kaki). Dioypyros translates as "fruit of the gods" or also "food of the gods". We love the name "kaki - the fruit of the gods". With our 500 g value pack, you can snack on the sweet fruit all year round and don't have to wait for the cold months. Buy dried kaki now and snack divinely!

Kaki, Sharon, persimmon: what is the difference?

Kaki, Sharon and persimmon look confusingly similar. This leads to the assumption that they are the same fruit. Let's clear this up! All three varieties belong to the same species: the Sharon fruit, just like the persimmon, is a cultivated form of the kaki. It contains no seeds and can be eaten when hard. This makes it more suitable for the trade, because very soft fruits are difficult to store when ripe. The taste of the Sharon fruit is reminiscent of honeydew melon and peach. The kaki is more reddish in colour, the Sharon fruit is more orange-yellow and the persimmon is yellowish. You can easily tell the difference between the fruits from this. The fruits also differ in size: the persimmon is somewhat more elongated and, like the Sharon, smaller than the kaki.

Varieties and origins

Persimmons are grown in ten countries around the world, with 90% of production coming from China, Japan and Korea. There they are mainly harvested in October and November. Because persimmons have a very soft flesh and are therefore hard to transport safely, the first persimmon trees were only planted in southern Europe in the 18th century.

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

First of all the packaging: plain and very simple

First, the packaging: Simple and very simply held. On the label is everything on it, what should be on it. Packaging is sealed and can be closed again at any time thanks to pressure lock. About the product: A detailed discussion will take place at a later date. Since I like persimmon dried or as a fruit, this will certainly taste good.

Not so suitable as a snack, great in recipes!

From the Gesck her okay, consistency not so mine. Find them very hard and leaves a funny tooth feeling - but I can imagine them well in Overnight Oats, so that they soften something! As a snack but rather not so.

Hello Marie, thank you for your feedback. It's a shame that the consistency doesn't quite convince you. You can also use the dried persimmons to refine your cakes and muffins or round off smoothie bowls and couscous salads with it :) Best regards, your KoRo team

Partly immature.

Some pieces are tasty. Not super flavorful. Is perhaps with getr. persimmon just so.
Some pieces don't taste good and are astringent, so make a dry and furry mouth. They were dried unripe.
