Everything at a glance Dried barberries with no added sugar 1 kg

Aren't those cranberries? Nope, they are barberries. Even though we have to admit that they look confusingly similar to dried cranberries and also taste like the little red fruits. Although the dark red berries are native to Europe, you have probably never heard of them. Maybe you've seen them hanging from a bush while walking and thought they were bird food. But no way! The aromatic, dried berries refine numerous dishes with a unique, tart note. 100 % barberry flavour: Buy barberries without additives in the convenient 1 kg storage size online now!

Barberries – what is that?

Barberries, goji berries, red currants, cranberries – it's true: at a first glance, the tiny red berries all look pretty much the same, we also get confused on occasion. Barberries come from the barberry family. Because of their thorns, barberries are often used as hedges. In addition, not all barberry species are edible. However, you can enjoy our dried barberries without hesitation. In countries like Iran, barberries have become an indispensable part of the diet. If you have never tasted crispy Persian rice with saffron and barberries, you are definitely missing out! Luckily, you can now make up for it with our 1 kg pack.

The versatility of barberries

Red, dried, with a tart flavour - barberries are a great ingredient in both savoury and sweet dishes. And the best thing about it: our aromatic barberries with high fibre content come completely without additives - no sugar, no frills, pure nature! The dried barberries are ideal for refining and seasoning sauces, for example. They are also good for making jams and taste delicious in salads and muesli. You can also easily make a juice: pour hot water over the dried barberries and enjoy! Of course, you can also just snack on them out of the bag if you feel like a sour snack. As you can see, the small, aromatic barberries are a must in every kitchen. And if you're just as big a fan of dried fruits, you shouldn't miss out on the treasures in our dried-fruit selection!

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

gladly again

This is my first time trying barberries and I would describe them as similar to johnberries. I find them super convenient for muesli because of the small size and let them soak like all dried fruits at least 1 hour before eating. But you can also eat them very well like that.
With the quality I am absolutely satisfied and the price-performance ratio I also find top.

5* for the product, 1* for safety

The barberries are super tasty, have a great colour and fully serve their purpose, but there is an enormous problem.
The whole bag is full of small branches which are certainly not a problem, but today I bit on a stone which is absolutely not acceptable. Therefore I will unfortunately not buy the product again.

Super tasty for muesli

I had actually bought barberries because I had heard they were good for pimples and blemished skin. That's what they did for me. I always had very big problems with acne on the face and since I eat every day 1-2 tablespoons barberries, either pure or in cereal, my skin has become much better.
I would buy them independently though, as I really like that tart taste.
