Mustard with agave syrup

There are many types of mustard. Dijon mustard, grainy mustard, fig mustard, and our medium-spicy mustard without sugar, which you may have already spotted in our shop. For those with a sweet tooth, we now also have created a fine and slightly sweet mustard! Say hi to our new barbecue favourite, KoRo's mustard refined with agave syrup.

Perfect in summer dips and dressings

Whether it's mustard balsamic, yoghurt mustard dressing or mustard orange dressing - a little dash of agave syrup belongs in every mustard sauce and vinaigrette. And so we thought: Let us take this intermediate step off your hands. Our medium-hot mustard is sweetened with agave syrup, adding a pleasant, sweet flavour to its slight pungency - the perfect combination in a jar! The mustard is very fine, contains hardly any seeds and is free from refined sugar thanks to the natural sweetness of the agave. Did you know that mustard gets its characteristic mustard-yellow colour from the addition of turmeric? Since our mustard is free of additives, it has a beige colour.

But mustard is much more than a spread for burgers and the like! As a real all-rounder, fine mustard should not be missing from any kitchen. What ingredients does the fine mustard contain?

Only a few ingredients go into our sweet mustard: ground mustard seeds, water, agave syrup, vinegar and a pinch of salt. Our mustard comes completely without refined sugar and is also 100% vegan. If you have a fructose intolerance, you should rather fall back on our medium hot mustard without sugar because of the agave syrup.

How to make the mustard with agave syrup?

Our mustard is produced in Germany, more precisely in Thuringia. For this we use mustard meal, natural mineral water, brandy vinegar, salt and 10% agave syrup. In Thuringia, the mustard is filled directly into the jar before it makes its way to you.

Does the sweetened mustard contain histamine?

Mustard seeds in themselves have only a low histamine content. In processed form, mustard is often poorly tolerated by people with histamine intolerance, even without additives. As a general rule, histamine intolerance affects everyone differently and mustard is not intolerable for everyone.

What is special about KoRo's sweet mustard?

A small pinch of sugar refines every dish. Even grandma knew that! It's the same with spicy mustard. Since we want to avoid the addition of refined sugar, we use natural agave syrup for our medium hot mustard. Thus, our mustard tastes pleasantly spicy, but is rounded off by a slightly sweet flavor: Not too sweet, not too spicy, but just right!

How many calories is the mustard with agave syrup?

Sweet mustard contains a little more calories than hot mustard varieties due to the sugar it contains. On 100 g, our fine-sweet mustard contains 107 kcal. With only 1.4 g fat per 100 g, the mustard is also low in fat.

Does the mustard contain a lot of sugar?

To give our mustard a slightly sweet taste, we use agave syrup. Thus, our sweet mustard contains no refined sugar and tastes deliciously aromatic and slightly spicy at the same time due to the natural sweetness of the agave. If you want to completely avoid any kind of sugar in your diet, we recommend our medium hot mustard without sugar.

Is the mustard vegan?

Good news for all vegans: Our mustard with agave syrup contains no additives and is therefore 100% vegan. Say goodbye to whey or honey mustard sauces from the supermarket and create your own vegan mustard dressings with our fine medium hot mustard with agave syrup.

Is the mustard gluten-free?

Our mustard with agave syrup does not naturally contain gluten, but cannot be labeled gluten-free due to traces it may contain. If you want to consciously reduce gluten in your diet, our mustard can be a good base for homemade sauces and dressings.

What is the shelf life of mustard?

Our mustard with agave syrup has a total shelf life of 13 months. To enjoy the mustard with agave syrup as long as possible, you should store it dry and at room temperature. To increase the shelf life of the mustard, it is best to put it in the refrigerator after opening.
