Cranberries are known by the name of large-fruit cranberries and are particularly popular at the American Thanksgiving.
In Europe, too, it is conquering the market at lightning speed. In dried form, it is often offered with sugar candied in supermarkets. We have made it our mission to omit the sugar and still bring it to a sweet tasting level. The native fruit of North America grows on the shrub and belongs to the heather family. From September, the fruit can be harvested, because then their pulp is juicy red. Cranberries have four air chambers inside, which allows the fruit to float on the water surface. That is why the fields are flooded with water in large-scale cultivation. The cranberries are then separated from the shrub using a machine and collected.
Raw cranberries are inedible as they are very bitter and sour. That's why they should always be further processed. Our cranberries are dried and sweetened with apple juice. So you can integrate them perfectly in your bread, cake, cereal or porridge. Even as a snack, the dried cranberries made a particularly good figure.
