Spirulina – the power microalgae

Spirulina, also known as arthrospira platensis, is a tiny greenish-blue sweet water microalga, that grows in alkaline waters of Mexico, Asia and South America. The algae originated 3.5 billion years ago and are one of the oldest organisms around the world. Spirulina has a longstanding tradition as a food and was previously grown by the Aztecs from the Lake Texoco, a sea that is almost dry today, in the region of modern day Mexico City. The Aztecs already new about the power of the microalgae: they used dry spirulina in their cakes and soups. Along with the spirulina, you can also find chlorella tablets in our shop.

No, our Spirulina powder may contain traces of gluten. Spirulina is naturally gluten-free. However, cross-contamination with gluten may occur during the filling process, as our filler also processes foods containing gluten.

First of all, the healthy thing to do is to eat a balanced and whole food. In the case of our spirulina, it is rich in protein (45 g/100 g) and thanks to its powder format, it is easy to integrate into meals and drinks. We recommend consuming one teaspoon of this powder (4 g) with plenty of water. Remember not to exceed the recommended daily intake.

Spirulina is found mainly in alkaline salt lakes and waters with high salt content. This alga is very common in Central America, Southeast Asia, Australia and Africa.
Yes, spirulina has quite a similar effect on your dog's and cat's body as it does on your own. Just remember that each dog and cat has individual health conditions. That's why we recommend you to check the dosage with a veterinarian you trust. And if you are still looking for a main food source for your dog, you are welcome to look around in our dog food assortment.
Chlorella and Spirulina are two different microalgae that have lived on our planet for billions of years. Spirulina belongs to the blue-green algae, while Chlorella belongs to the green algae. The biggest difference is that Spirulina does not have a distinct nucleus and has only very thin cell walls. The freshwater algae Chlorella, on the other hand, has its own cell nucleus and has more robust cell walls. But let's get back to supplements: In this country, both microalgae are largely used in powder or tablet form. In addition to Spirulina tablets, you can also find organic Chlorella tablets in our assortment.
Magic Blue: With one teaspoon of our blue power powder your blue dreams come true! One teaspoon, that's all it takes to conjure up a bright blue color. Only with acidic foods the color is not quite optimal. For maximum luminosity, we recommend that you do not heat your artwork above 70 degrees, because then the color loses its glow. So there are no limits to your creativity: Try it out and find your favorite blue tone!
Spirulina is a tiny freshwater microalgae that grows in alkaline salt lakes and freshwater.
This powder is very versatile, as you can use it in your favorite dishes and recipes to give them a blue tone. You can use it in energy bars, juices or even in your coffee. And if you want a bit of marine ambiance, you can integrate spirulina into your favorite smoothie bowl and turn it into an ocean bowl. As you can see, there are no limits to creativity.

Stunning to say the least 🤩

Attracted by the color and properties of this powder, I wanted to purchase it and apply it immediately in my recipes. I started with a dough to which I added a few grams of Spirulina! It immediately took on a beautiful blue color that made my pizza very special, to the amazement and compliments of all the guests. I will definitely try it in many other recipes, super approved and recommended.
