Description

Everything at a glance

The Ameri dates, originally from Egypt, are very soft. They are similar to the Medjool dates, but are not that sweet. The taste of the Ameri dates can be described as slightly honey-like. Dates grow on palms and are harvested from September either by hand or with the help of a mechanical shaking tongs. They are dried on site to extend their shelf life. In the country of origin of the date, it is customary to hand them over to guests as a sweet welcome. Afterwards it is eaten with a cup of tea and lots of stories from the Orient. The dates are very popular with athletes and is considered a natural source of energy.

But beware! The dates are to be enjoyed with caution, because in the middle there is still a pit, which must be removed before the consumption.

not really natural

After opening the packaging with Ameri dates, it was noticeable that all dates shine evenly, which would be impossible for this variety, as these dates are quite dry. Even such "juicy" varieties as Medjool and Deri have mainly matt surfaces. Why do Ameri dates shine so unnaturally? There is nothing on the Koro website about this phenomenon, but on the manufacturer's website it is recommended to coat the dates with glucose syrup to improve the appearance and prolong the shelf life.

In this regard, Koro has said that all their dates are sugar-free, although they obviously have a glucose coating. Further no explanation was made concerning the splendour, not even on repeated inquiry. The dates are actually very good, unfortunately they don't seem to be really natural.

Nach der Eröffnung der Verpackung mit Ameri Datteln war auffallend, dass alle Datteln gleichmäßig glänzen was für diese Sorte unmöglich wäre, da diese Datteln ziemlich trocken sind. Sogar solche „saftige“ Sorten wie Medjool und Deri haben hauptsächlich matte Oberflächen. Warum glänzen die Ameri Datteln so unnatürlich? Auf der Webseite von Koro steht nichts zu diesem Phänomen, aber auf der Webseite des Herstellers wird empfohlen die Datteln mit einem Glukosesirup zu überziehen, um das Aussehen zu verbessern und die Haltbarkeit zu verlängern.

Weiter wurde keine Erklärung bezüglich des Glanzes geleistet, auch auf wiederholte Antfrage nicht. An sich sind die Datteln sehr gut, leider scheinen die nicht wirklich naturbelassen sein.
