Everything at a glance Almonds with white chocolate and matcha 1 kg
Almonds and white chocolate is one of the best combinations in the world; but, as we are always striving for perfection, we tried adding a touch of matcha to the mix. The result? Well, we do not want to brag, but we think it is pretty close to perfection! Our almonds are covered in a white chocolate (at least 25 % cocoa) and matcha tea powder couverture – a true taste experience which you must try. We have made this snack available in the winter months to make this cosy season even nicer. It is also a great gift idea for your loved ones.

23 - 25 p
With 23 to 25 of these almonds you have one ounce. Our organic almonds belong to this type, which measures 13 to 14 mm in width.
27 - 30 p
You need 27 to 30 of these particularly small almonds to have one ounce (28.35 g) of them. They are about 12 mm wide.
Mission
This American variety is characterized by small, wide and plump almond kernels. Due to its wrinkled surface, salt and spices can adhere well to it during further processing. The taste of the raw almonds has a slightly bitter note.
Sonora
The Sonora almond comes from California and belongs to the Californian group. Sonora almonds are particularly large, have a light and smooth surface, and a sweet taste.
Nonpareil
The nonpareil almond is one of the most widespread almond varieties. Cultivated mainly in the USA, Australia, Chile and Spain, they are characterized by their light colour, a smooth surface, and their characteristic sweet aroma. KoRo's premium almonds are nonpareil.
Largueta
The Largueta almond is Spain's most common almond
Valencia
Valencia almonds grow on the Spanish coast. They are round and are characterized by an intense, sweet taste combined with a fine buttery note.
Carmel
Like the Sonora almond, the American Carmel almond belongs to the Californian type. Characterized by a narrow shape and a wrinkled surface, and particularly suited for blanching, these almonds are mostly used in processed almond products.
Blanched almonds
To make blanched almonds, the skin-on almonds are soaked in a water bath until the thin, brown skin peels off, leaving the white almond kernel bare. Blanched almonds can be eaten straight away or processed into other products such as white almond butter, almond flour or marzipan.
Global almond production is led by California, with over 2/3 of global production; buy why? This is probably due to a combination of large cultivation areas, easy mechanical harvest, and comparably low wages. Also, unlike many other parts of the world, water is not a scarce commodity in California. After the USA as the front runner in almond production, we find Spain, Morocco, Iran and Turkey. A total of around 2.2 million tons of almonds are harvested worldwide every year!

What is the KoRo price chart?
In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles. -
Why is the price fluctuating?
Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers. -
Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?
Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.
