Noni fruit grow on Morinda citrifolia, a tree from the coffee family, Rubiaceae. It is native in Southeast Asia and Australia, and the species is now cultivated throughout the tropics. Noni fruit is also known as Cheese fruit which is considered to carry many medical benefits, hence for centuries it was used as a treatment for arthritis and abdominal pain.
Noni fruits are known to have quite a strong smell and bitter taste. Some would even say that the taste of the fruit is similar to that of red wine.When turned into juice, the noni gains very caramel-like notes.

Why is there a price fluctuation? The harvest of raw products is not linear and is very much depending on external factors, like for example the weather or climate. Are these conditions not ideal and the gathering of the product is low, the price gets higher and we have to pay more. This is why we continuously reject contracts with producers that are longer than one season.
